44 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested: Verulam – KZN

A 44 year old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a collision on Old Inanda Road in Verulam a short while ago.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called to the scene by a resident in the area reporting the incident. Upon arrival it was establised that a Toyota Corolla that was travelling in the direction of Trenance Park veered into the oncoming lane and collided into an Isuzu bakkie that was travelling in the opposite lane.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla was under the influence of alcohol. An empty bottle of Vodka was found in the vehicle (picture 5). The panel beater confirmed that he and his assistant who was a passenger in the Toyota Corolla were consuming alcohol and were on their way to his home in Trenance Park when the collision occured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. No one was injured in the collision.

Reaction Officers placed the intoxicated man under arrest and handed him over to Police.
