A bungle by the NPA saw Turnbull granted R5,000 bail.

The NPA was not aware of the warrant of arrest, despite a warrant of arrest was issued against him in June, at the time when the bail application was heard.

The Beacon Bay police have been looking for Turnbull since June 27 for allegedly pointing a firearm at East Londoner ***Anthony Traub, 51, in April.

According to Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Hazel Mqala the Beacon Bay police only learned about Turnbull’s arrest and bail hearing later on social media, they then immediately contacted the station concerned only to find out Turnbull was already released on bail.

The Beacon Bay police have since communicated with his attorney who is going to assist in bringing the suspect in.
Turnbull is due to appear again on October 30

Hi guys i don't often post on Facebook however I would like to put this on record of what happened to me on Thursday night. Andrew Turnbull a well known East Londen man and drug addict in active addiction followed me from a friends house and tried to pull me off the road in the highway and proceeded to follow me into Abbotsford I was nervous because of his reputation so I climbed out my car with my stick to protect myself he then pulled off drove a few meters climbed out his car drew his weapon and pointed it at me. I drove off. In a telephonic conversation thereafter he told me I would be dead by the end of the evening and without a doubt is going to kill me. He also threatened to find out where I live and in his words take me out. This is a direct threat to myself and my family I want all my friends and fellow East Londeners to know exactly what happened and also want you guys to know that I will protect myself and my family to the best of my ability. Andrew Turnbull is highly dangerous and armed. God bless Ant.}
