AA SAY FOR THE FIRST TIME “PETROL” WILL COST MORE THAN R16 a LITER IN GAUTENG!
Automobile Association (AA), said petrol is estimated to be 26c per liter, diesel with 24c and 20cc paraffin.
The Central Energy Fund will announce the final prizes on Friday and this will take place on Wednesday, July 4th. Petrol price: That’s what you can expect in July.
The AA says almost a third of the cost of fuel is tax and levies. At present, R5,30 of each litre of gasoline is paid to the general fuel tax and the Road Accident Fund levy.
The AA calls on the government to reconsider these taxes.
The AA expects fuel to become more expensive for the rest of the year.
Factors such as the trade war between America and other powers – including China and the European Union – will put pressure on the rand.
This can make unprofitable private transport for more people unaffordable. “Consumers who have never considered public transport or transport clubs before, may soon have no choice.”
