Western Cape: On Thursday 2018-12-06 at about 18:45 members of the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) embarked on a disruptive / intelligence driven operation on the Cape flats in an effort to immobilize local gang activities.
Search and seizures were conducted by the AGU members and various perpetrators were arrested on outstanding search warrants and detained at SAPS.
A total of six (6) arrests were conducted during this operation.
Members also arrested a 31-year-old male for Illegal possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition after following up information that a firearm and drugs are being stored at a premises in Don Road, Bishop Lavis. Members acted swiftly and confiscated a black CZ 75 9mm pistol with serial number intact, 1 x 9mm magazine, 1 x 9mm round, 16 x blank rounds and five packets of tik.
