Durban: Man killed in Fire

A man believed to be in his twenties has been killed after a substation fire on Brickhill Road before Boscombe Terrace this evening.

Rescue Care were called to the scene just after 16:45 for reports that a person was trapped inside the blaze. On arrival they found Durban Fire Department already in attendance fighting the fire. One person had been killed by the fire and was declared deceased on the scene by Paramedics. The Fire was quickly extinguished by Fire Fighters. Durban SAPS Search and Rescue were also in attendance at the scene. The scene was cordoned off to allow SAPS to conduct their investigation.

There was a power failure around the area of the fire.

At this stage the events leading up to the fire are unknown however SAPS will be investigating further.
