No last will for Gill Packham has been submitted yet.
Rob Packham, businessman of Constantia who is accused of murdering his wife, is no longer working at the cooldrink company, Twizza.
Twizza’s marketing chief Lance Coertzen said on Monday that Packham’s contract had come to an end.
He did not want to say whether Packham was fired.
Packham was arrested on March 1, a week after his wife, Gill Packham, 55, disappeared on February 22nd this year, and was subsequently found murdered.
At that time Twizza gave him paid leave soon afterwards. He was then a general manager at one of their Cape facilities. Network24 is hearing that no last will from Gill has been submitted to the master of the High Court in Cape Town. The couple was married and shared community property.
According to information in the Cape Town deeds office, Gill is the owner of three apartments in Claremont. She bought them in September 2013, October 2014, and July 2016, at a combined price of just over R2 million.
According to information in the deeds office, Packham is the sole proprietor of their house in Riesling Street, Constantia.
He bought the house for R4,6 million in July 2016.
Packham appeared on charges of murder in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
He, as with his previous appearance, came to court with Ben Matthews, his attorney.
He is accused of murdering wife Gill, who was an administrative officer at the Springfield Convent School in Wynberg. Her charred body was found shortly after 22:00 on 22 February in the boot of her green BMW.
Her daughter, Nicola Packham, 25, had reported her missing at the Diep River police station earlier that evening.
State prosecutor Nicky Konisi asked on Tuesday that the case be delayed for further investigation.
She said she was standing in for Adv. Susan Galloway, and stated that the matter would be transferred to the High Court in Cape Town for trial.
According to Konisi, the autopsy report has not yet been received.
The police investigation has been completed, “However, the state needs all the information about the investigation before a final complaint can be made,” said Konisi.
Matthewson also requested that the case be postponed until Galloway will be available.
He stated he would at that time like to make an application for Packham’s bail conditions to be relaxed.
Magistrate Goolam Bawa postponed the case until 30 August and extended Packham’s bail of R50 000.
