Gill Packham’s sad end came in the boot of her own car where her body had been tossed, and then set alight. This was the harsh reality her loved ones were left to deal with, but the extreme disrespect shown her in death may have been but a continuation of what she was dealt in life. Before she was even properly eulogized in a small private service, reports began to surface of marital discord, with husband Rob Packham’s sexual preferences allegedly being at the center of the issues the couple sought counseling for. Gill apparently shared her unhappiness regarding these issues with a few close girlfriends in the form of WhatsApp messages. On the forensic end of things, at the completion of his bail hearing on May 8th, Packham was required to hand over his car for the purpose of obtaining tyre impressions, it was mentioned that DNA tests would be conducted on supposed blood that was found both in his car and on the garage floor, and Packham was positively identified by a witness in an identity parade who had allegedly seen him in the area where her car was ablaze at Diep River. Court proceedings begin today, with Packham facing a murder charge pertaining to his wife Gill’s death, and obstruction of justice. The case may now be transferred to the high court in Cape Town.
