KwaZulu-Natal: At 13H00 Sunday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R603 Umbumbulo, near Eston.

Reports from the scene indicate that two vehicles were involved in a head on collision.

Paramedics assessed the scene and tragically found that an adult male from the one vehicle had died as well as an adult female from the station wagon.

An adult male who was also in the station wagon was transported privately to hospital prior to the arrival of emergency services and his condition is unknown.

The Netcare 911 Rescue Technician as well as the Fire and Rescue Services had to use the "Jaws of Life" to free the bodies of the deceased.

Circumstances leading up to the collision will be investigated by the SAPS who were on scene.
