Light Motor Vehicle Collision: Tongaat – KwaZulu-Natal
A female driver of a silver Opel Corsa Lite was placed under arrest after she was was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol following a collision on the R102 southbound lane in Tongaat – KZN.
According to the male driver of a white Opel Corsa bakkie, he believes that the female was drunk & immediately after the collision she removed several bottles of beer from the vehicle & threw them across the road (picture 4). The woman denied these allegations & explained that the liquor in the vehicle belonged to her husband. The male driver insisted that the female was intoxicated & she was eventually taken to the local clinic for a blood test.
Reaction Unit South Africa received several calls from passing motorist at approx 11:04 & Paramedics arrived on scene a short while later & treated both drivers for minor injuries.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
