The City’s Transport and Urban Development Authority (TDA) wants to alert commuters that the MyCiTi bus service will be disrupted due to bus drivers participating in a march to Parliament 12 April 2018.
The City of Cape Town has been informed that the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) has called on its members to participate in a march to Parliament 12 April 2018.
Those bus drivers who are members of NUMSA may participate in the march. The MyCiTi bus service will be disrupted as large scale absenteeism is expected.
It is impossible to predict the extent and duration of the disruption, and the impact it will have on the different routes at this point in time. However, commuters are advised to expect delays, route deviations, and disruptions during the morning peak hour, and to make alternative transport arrangements where possible.
The City will carefully monitor the situation, and will provide commuters with updates as far as possible.
Commuters are also advised to visit the MyCiTi website on www.myciti.org.za for regular updates; and to follow us on Twitter @MyCiTiBus; or to phone the Transport Information Centre on 0800 65 64 63 – the TIC is available 24/7.
MyCiTi is Cape Town’s convenient, reliable, scheduled, affordable bus service.
