Pedestrian Struck By Overturning Vehicle: Hazelmere – KZN

The driver of an Opel Corsa and a pedestrian were injured following an accident on New Glasgow Road in Hazelmere today (Friday).

A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the area when he was flagged down by a passerby requesting assistance for the injured. On arrival the Opel Corsa was found lying on its roof. The driver was found on a grass patch outside the vehicle. A pedestrian was also injured in the accident.

According to witnesses the Opel Corsa was traveling downhill when the vehicle veered into the oncoming lane and overturned. The pedestrian was walking towards his residence near Hazelmere Dam when he was struck by the overturning vehicle.

Both men were stabilized on scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance.
