Pizza Delivery Driver Chokes Customer: Southridge – KZN
At approx 13:15 (Wednesday) Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to a business premises on the Umdloti Beach Road near Southridge after a female called the Operations Center requesting assistance after a pizza delivery driver attempted to strangle her.
27 year old Tamra Salter informed Reaction Officers that the pizza delivery guy attempted to run her over with his bike and then attempted to strangle and choke her during a dispute. According to Tamra she had ordered a large & a Real Deal Pizza from a Pizza outlet. She explained that when the pizza arrived at her workplace it was an hour later & the food was cold. She then got into an argument with the driver regarding the delay & the company’s cold pizza policy. He then attempted to knock her with his bike. Tamra added that she grabbed the bike to prevent injury & the driver choked her using both his hands. The driver, a foreign national then fled when her work colleagues contacted RUSA.
The female sustained minor injuries and was seeking advice on opening a criminal case.
Reaction Officers did not interview the pizza delivery biker as he had left the scene and could not be immediately located.
