Scholars Removed From Railway Line: Verulam – KZN

Ten (10) Students from a local High School were removed from a railway track after a Reaction Officer found them gambling on the active train line a short while ago.

A member of Reaction Unit South Africa were in the Temple Valley – Verulam area at approx 11:00 this morning (Thursday) when he found the students smoking & gambling with playing cards during school time. The students left upon noticing the approaching Reaction Officer who was in the area attending to an unrelated callout.

RUSA has attended to multiple deaths in this area after several students were knocked down by trains in recent months in separated incidents.
