Search For Kidnapped Businessman: Durban – KwaZulu Natal

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa and the Verulam SAPS are currently standing off at D 827 in Inanda where the vehicle of a kidnapped businessman was recovered.

At approximately 17:32 today (Monday) Reaction Officers were dispatched to a scrap yard in Ottawa after an employee reported the kidnapping. Upon arrival it was established that three men entered the business and drew firearms. Staff managed to lock a gate preventing the suspects from entering.

The suspects grabbed the owner of the business and forced him into his Toyota Hilux bakkie before they sped off. Reaction Officers received the location of the bakkie from a tracking company and went in search of the victim. The bakkie was recovered abandoned on an unpaved road.

The victim has not been found and a search for the Muslim male is currently underway.
