Twenty Two Suspects Arrested in Joint Operation: Verulam – KZN
Twenty Two (22) suspects have been arrested in a planned joint operation by members of Reaction Unit South Africa, The South Africa Police Service and Verulam Crime Watch Sector 1 earlier today (Monday)
The Operation was initiated by the Verulam SAPS Station Commander Brigadier VS Dludla who formed a Rapid Response Unit on Friday consisting of five SAPS & five RUSA Officers who will react immediately to any serious crimes in the area.
The Rapid Response Unit planned its first operation today and arrested 22 suspects within an hour and recovered hundreds of whoonga capsules, rock cocaine (picture 4,5,6) and dangerous weapons (picture 24). Amongst those arrested were three (3) car guards wanted for robbing shoppers on Wick & Todd street in the Verulam CBD. These suspects were flushed out of their hideouts and were arrested as they attempted to flee towards the R102.
All suspects are currently in custody.
