Eastern Cape: Police acted on information they received from the community today in the early hours at about 02h00.

They followed the information that there is a Toyota Verso coming from Mdantsane to load meat from one of the Farms in KwaZidenge Village, Stutterheim. The driver of the vehicle was found in the vehicle while other occupants ran away and the vehicle was full of meat. Through Police investigation they managed to arrest two suspects who are selling meat to other people. Two cows that were already slaughtered were recovered and confiscated by Police.
A case of Stock Theft was opened for investigation. These two suspects are due to appear at Stutterheim Magistrate Court on Monday.

The Cluster Commander Brigadier Luntu Ngubelanga appreciated the work done by Stutterheim Police in ensuring that the perpetrators of Stock Theft are behind bars. He emphasized that Police will ensure that these farms are being patrolled and ensure that there is no Stock Theft during this Festive Season.
