Tyre Blowout Blamed For Accident: R102 Verulam – KZN

A white Nissan NP 200 bakkie crashed on the R102 between Verulam & Ottawa – KZN after two of its tyres burst.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 13:49. The bakkie was located in the centre median. According to the driver, he was travelling on the south bound lane when the front and rear tyre on the driver’s side burst. He lost control of the bakkie and veered off the road. He was not injured.

The cause of the blowout could not be established.
