Woman Assaulted During House Robbery: Tongaat – KZN

A 44 year woman was injured after she was assaulted during a house robbery at her home on Naidoo Lane in Fairbreeze -Tongaat this morning.

At approximately 01:40 Reaction Unit South Africa’s Tongaat Operations Centre received a call from a neigbour reporting the incident. Reaction Officers were dispatched to the home and upon arrival it was establised that two suspects had bent the security gate and kicked open the front door to gained entry into the home.

The victim woke up when she heard the noise and upon investigation was assaulted by the suspects with golf clubs. The robbers ransacked the home and stole two TV’s and an iPhone 6 when they were disturbed by the victim’s elderly mother who was also in the home at the time. They dropped one of the TV’s as they made their escape.

The victim sustained injuries from the assault to her hands and back. She was treated by medics on scene however declined further medical attention.
