Provincial Excellence Awards: Kimberley #ServiceExcellence #ServingOurCommunities

Northen Cape: On Thursday, 22 November 2018 the Provincial Commissioner of Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Risimati Shivuri hosted the annual Provincial Excellence Awards at the Flamingo View in Kimberley. The purpose of the event was to recognise and appreciate police officials for going beyond the call of duty in ensuring that our communities are safe and feel safe.

The awards include categories such as ABET learner of the year, reservist of the year, sport man of the year, person with disability of the year, man of the year, woman of the year, best station of the year, best administration employee of the year, best visible policing employee of the year and best senior manager of the year amongst others. The event was graced by the Premier of Northern Cape, Ms S. Lucas, The Frances Baard Executive Mayor, Mr P Marekwa, the MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Mr Lebogang Mothlaping with several other MEC’s and Lt Generals from National and Provinces. The Northern Cape Premier, Ms Lucas and Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Risimati Shivuri also had the opportunity to honour members with their special awards.

The winners received a trophy, Certificate and a voucher while runner-ups received a certificate and a voucher. The Premier gave the keynote address. She appreciated all members who are always willing to go an extra mile and urged others to also play a role in the fight against crime.
