Gauteng: At 22H14 Thursday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R114 near Riverfield Lodge in Randburg.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a light delivery vehicle lost control crashing into a tree.

The patient, an adult male sustained critical injuries in the collision and was treated on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic.

Due to the nature of his injuries a medical helicopter was called to the scene to airlift the patient to hospital for further treatment.
