KwaZulu-Natal: At 05H14 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N3 Johannesburg bound just before the Tweedie offramp in Merrivale.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a mini-bus taxi lost control while trying to negotiate road works.

A total of sixteen occupants from the taxi including the driver sustained minor to moderate injuries and were all treated on scene.

Two of the passengers were ejected and were trapped under the taxi during the rollover.

With the help of a big rig tow truck the taxi was carefully lifted off the ground and the two trapped passengers who were in a stable condition were safely removed onto spinal immobilization equipment.

The patients once stabilised were all transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.
