Gauteng: At 07H04 Wednesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Heidelberg Road in Van Dyk Park Brakpan.

Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi and a car were involved in a collision.

Medics assessed the scene and found that seventeen people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

The seriously injured patient, an adult female required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise her.

Due to the nature of her injuries a medical helicopter was called to airlift her to hospital.

The Sixteen other patients were treated on scene and transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.
