Limpopo: Limpopo police conduct a ‘Safer City’ campaign
Thabazimbi: Following high incidents of substance abuse related crimes in Thabazimbi policing area, a joint community outreach program comprising of members from Provincial Corporate Communication, Visible Policing, Bela bela, Modimolle and Lephalale Clusters and Correctional Services was conducted at the local mall today, 20 July 2018.
The event commenced with visits to the identified problematic schools in the area where learners and educators were addressed on the dangers associated with drug and alcohol abuse.
Other members were deployed in the adjacent township for an operation which resulted in the closure of two (2) liquor outlets for non-compliance with the Liquor Act.
Addressing community members who converged at the mall, the Provincial Head of Crime Prevention, Brigadier Maila, condemned substance abuse, especially among the youth. Pamphlets containing crime prevention hints were also distributed.
Officials from Correctional Services were given a platform to talk about processing an arrested person.
Lastly the Cluster Commander of Bela bela, Brigadier Mafelatshuma commended all the role players who made this event a success. #SayNOtoDrugs #ReportCrime #ActAgainstAbuse
