Another murder of 85-year-old elderly woman raises concerns: Idutywa #CrimeStop

EASTERN CAPE – The Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga has expressed shock and dismay at yet another cold blooded killing of a defenseless 85-year-old elderly on Friday night the 20 March 2020 at Vininda Village, Idutywa.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the elderly woman was asleep alone in her rondavel hut, when she was later discovered the following morning by relatives who stay in the same yard, fatally shot on her upper body.

The motive behind the murder has not yet been established. However, the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Liziwe Ntshinga has ordered an immediate arrest of those responsible for this act of criminality. “The perpetrators of this heinous crime do not deserve to live among the people, they must face justice for their actions and ultimately be sent to prison” General Ntshinga remarked.

No arrest has been made at this stage and investigation continues.
