NORTHERN CAPE – The Provincial Head of Corporate Communication, Brigadier Mohale Ramatseba joined the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture and the South African Library for the Blind to hand over Digital Playback devices to visually impaired persons at Galeshewe public library in Galeshewe, Kimberley on Thursday 05 December 2019.
The event is in commemoration of the National Disability Rights Awareness month as well as to emphasise the unyielding stance of 16 Days of Activism for no violence against Women and Children.
On behalf of the Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Risimati Peter Shivuri, Brigadier Ramatseba eloquently enlightened the people on the objective of the police in addressing any form of criminal elements in the community to ensure the vision of a safe and secure South Africa comes to reality. Moreover Brig Ramatseba shared a handful of safety tips during the Festive season, a time where most people are vulnerable and can easily fall victims of cybercrimes, robberies and various other criminal acts. In closure the Brigadier strongly condemned senseless abuse subjected to Women and Children in the society and assured the people that the police will always utilise all resources to guarantee that all who commit crime face the full might of the law.
In attendance was also Chief Director of Department of Sport, Arts & Culture Mr David Mdutyana who helped hand over the gifts to the cheerful visually impaired people and subsequently conveyed his vote of thanks.
