#COVID19 #21DaysLockdown Awareness Campaign in Somerset East

EASTERN CAPE – The ongoing awareness campaign on Covid-19 by the Eastern Cape SAPS continue today, 02 April 2020.

During the awareness drive, community members were sensitized about the Coronavirus lockdown regulations. They were warned to adhere to social distancing, gatherings of more than fifty people and nonessential movement.

"The Coronavirus doesn't discriminate, it knows no color, race or gender" said Colonel Matroos. The community members were also encouraged to report noncompliance in their residential areas to the respective authorities including the police for intervention.

Lieutenant Colonel Nqaphi, Somerset East Station Commander also joined the members on the Covid-19 awarness drive. During her short briefing to the community she touched on the issue of Domestic Violence. Lt Col Nqaphi also reminded community members to protect the vulnerable members of our community including women and children.
She appealed to the public to partner with the SAPS during this lockdown period.

Information material about the pandemic was also distributed.
