Eastern Cape: Ten new senior management members conferred with new ranks

King William’s Town: In an effort to ensure that all critical posts are filled with the right candidates, Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Ntshinga and her deputies welcomed ten (10) members to the senior management echelons namely two (2) Deputy Provincial Commissioners, three (3) Provincial Component Heads and five (5) Cluster based Station Commanders.

The new incumbents were conferred with new ranks welcoming them to senior managerial positions today, 05 November 2018 even though their appointments are effective from the 1st of November 2018.

The appointees are the Deputy Provincial Commissioners for Human Resource Management-Major General Thobeka Daphney Kunene and Deputy Provincial Commissioner: Crime Detection-Major General Zithulele Moses Dladla,

· Provincial Head: Corporate Communication and Liaison-Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana
· Provincial Head: Organised Crime-Brigadier Duduzile Daphney Nculu
· Provincial Head: Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences-Brig Sheperd Khonza

1. Mthatha Station Commander, Asogran Naidoo
2. Lusikisiki Station Commander, Brigadier Wiseman Chiya
3. Mount Road Station Commander, Brigadier Marius Groenewald
4. Motherwell Station Commander, Brigadier Michael Solani
5. Mdantsane Station Commander, Aslam Syed Cassim

The appointment of the station Commanders could not come at a better time as last week the province hosted the Annual National launch of Safer Festive Operation aimed at ensuring that our citizens and their property are safe during the festive season and beyond. They are also tasked with the crucial duty of providing leadership in these stations that also happen to be one of the busiest clusters.

Eastern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Ntshinga said these positions became vacant for various reasons including retirement while some are newly established and fully fledged independent components under the Crime Detection component. It was therefore crucial for Eastern Cape SAPS management to ensure these critical vacant posts are filled as soon as possible so that service delivery is not hampered or delayed, she said.

“These new appointments must be understood within the context of growth and development within the South African Police Service in the Eastern Cape. Growth means skilful and capable senior management and development in numbers and new innovations in the other hand. These candidates have undergone rigorous and objective process of assessment and selection to test their suitability in the fields in which they applied. They have exhibited a sense of diligence, commitment and passion for their work. During this festive season I want to assure the community that work has begun as these senior managers are not only endowed with skills and proficiency but are disciplined and loyal cadres of SAPS. I urge all of you to support them morally and otherwise so that they can discharge their responsibilities freely and with enthusiasm,” explained Lt Gen Ntshinga. #ServiceExcellence #ServingOurCommunities

Major General Dladla acknowledged on behalf of all the newly appointed to say, “We are here to acknowledge and commit ourselves to the code of conduct and serving our clients both internal and external. We are going to ensure that we do our best, we won’t try but will serve our community and make Eastern Cape a safer province.”
