Female trainees keen to sweep crime from the streets of South Africa.
Gauteng: 2307 Female trainees from the SAPS Hammanskraal and Tshwane Academies gathered to receive direction and instructions, preparing trainees before taking off and responding to their calling as fully-fledged police constables, who will toughen the fight against femicide.
The purpose of the Deputy National Commissioner for Human Resource Management, Lieutenant General Bonang Mgwenya’s visit, was to ensure that trainees are reminded of the SAPS’s Code of Conduct and the oath that they are about to take.
In her address, the Deputy National Commissioner extended her gratitude to the trainees for successfully enduring all hardship during their training, which has subsequently paid off. The 2307 trainees are expected to have their passing out parade on 21 December 2018 as they were declared competent in the vocational Basic Police Development Learning Programme.
“It is abundantly pleasing that you will join us as we will be intensifying operations and stabilise crime during this Festive Season period and beyond. As part of the 16 Days of Activism of No Violence Against Women and Children campaign, we have to constantly echo our response that no gender-based violence will be tolerated," said Lt Gen Mgwenya.
The trainees are about to become fully-fledged police officials soon, they were also urged to stand firm, be vigilant and act decisively when defending the lives of the innocent citizens, including their own lives.
