THE REGIONAL WEATHER FORECAST FOR TOMORROW: 2018-09-07

SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS:

WARNINGS:

1. Heavy rain leading to localised flooding is expected along the coastal areas of the Eden District of the Western Cape as well as the coast and adjacent interior between Pletteberg Bay and Port Elizabeth.
2. Disruptive snowfalls are expected over the Swartberg and the Outeniqua mountains of the Eden District of the Western Cape as well as the Sneeuberg, Kouga and Tsitsikamma mountains of the Eastern Cape.
3. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces.

1. An intense cut off low is expected to affect parts of the Western Cape, Northern Cape and Eastern Cape over the next few days. The public and small stock farmers are advised that very cold conditions and snowfalls on the high ground are expected.

Partly cloudy, windy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.

2. MPUMALANGA:

Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and thundershowers except in the Lowveld where it will be hot to very hot.

3. LIMPOPO:

Fine at first, otherwise partly cloudy and hot but very hot
in the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley. Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers are expected except in the Lowveld.

4. NORTH-WEST PROVINCE:

Cloudy and cool with isolated morning showers, clearing in the afternoon.
It will be warm in the extreme east.

5. FREE STATE:
————–
Cloudy and cool with isolated morning showers, clearing in the afternoon.
It will be cold in the south-west.

6. NORTHERN CAPE:
——————-
Very cold on the southern High ground wIth possible snowfalls on the Roggeveld mountains, otherwise partly cloudy and cold with isolated showers in the south and the south-west.
The wind along the coast will be strong southerly.

7. WESTERN CAPE:
—————-
Cloudy and cold with scattered to widespread showers and
thundershowers but isolated in the west and the south-west where it will be very cold in places. Possible heavy rain and localised flooding along the Eden District coast. Snowfalls are expected over the High ground with possible disruptive over the Swartberg and Outeniqua mountains from the afternoon.
The wind along the coast will be strong south-easterly but southerly in the west.

8. WESTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE:

Cloudy and cold but very cold in places over the interior. Scattered showers and thundershowers but widespread along the coast and adjacent interior where heavy rain and localised flooding is possible.
The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly.

9. EASTERN HALF OF THE EASTERN CAPE:
————————————
Cloudy and cold but very cold in places over the interior. Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected with light snowfalls on the High ground.
The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

10. KWAZULU-NATAL:
——————
Warm in the north, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers. Morning fog patches can be expected over the interior.
The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, but north-easterly north of Richards Bay.
