Gauteng: At 17H03 Thursday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the R562 direction Diepsloot in Blue Hills AH, Midrand.

Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi, truck and a car were involved in a collision.

Medics assessed the scene and found that ten people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

One of the patients an adult male who had sustained serious injuries required rescue crew's with hydraulic tools to cut him free from the wreckage.

Due to the nature of his injuries Netcare 2 a specialised helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift the patient to hospital for further specialised care.

All necessary authorities were on scene.
