Gauteng: Nelson #MandelaDay – Unannounced visits to police stations
On the morning of Wednesday, 18 July 2018, Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Deliwe de Lange welcomed the Minister of Police, Mr Bheki Cele together with National Police Commissioner, General Sitole and SAPS top management to Sunnyside Police Station in Tshwane Central.
The Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General De Lange and a senior delegation comprising of Deputy Provincial Commissioners and Cluster Commanders paid unannounced visits to various stations in Gauteng. The Provincial Commissioner visited:
1. Tsakane Police Station;
2. Heidelberg Police Station and
3. Vereeniging Police Station.
Three more senior management teams led by a Deputy Provincial Commissioner visited the following stations:
4. Olivenhoutbosch Police Station;
5. Eersterust Police Station;
6. Diepsloot Police Station;
7. Thokoza Police Station;
8. Eden Park Police Station;
9. Meadowlands Police Station and
10. Khutsong Police Station.
The SAPS has committed itself to provide/render an efficient and effective frontline service to the communities of South Africa. It is envisaged that a professional, well-coordinated and holistic approach that will contribute towards the realization of “Vision 2030” of safe and secure communities where all people are and feel safe in their homes, public places and places of work in South Africa is achieved. Let us continue putting people first and giving them quality service at police stations serving our communities with dignity and professionalism.
