Gauteng: Saturday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a building on fire on Millar Street in Sophia Town.

Reports from the scene indicated that a fire had started in a lift shaft on the 8th floor spreading to a flat.

Fortunately no injuries were reported.

Fire and Rescue Services managed to contain the fire.

Circumstances leading up to the fire will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
