Hawks ensures justice is served as a rapist, his mother and aunt receive hefty sentences.

WESTERN CAPE – In what is considered as one of the ground breaking judgements as far as Trafficking in Persons (TIP) is concerned, the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation has ensured that a man, his mother and the aunt of his victim are sentenced to a collective 80 years imprisonment on charges of rape and human trafficking.

The National Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, Lieutenant General, Godfrey Lebeya has welcomed this far reaching judgment as it reinforces the Directorate’s commitment in the fight against gender based violence particularly the rising crimes against women and children.
