Junior Commissioner Engagement #PartnershipPolicing
EASTERN CAPE – Yesterday, the Provincial Junior Commissioners engaged with the community of Aliwal North on pertinent safety issues that affect the youth in schools and the community.
The Junior Commissioners chose topics that they felt contributed to youth being victims and perpetrators of crime in their respective communities. Through the robust engagements, these brilliant minds highlighted solutions that may aid in combating crime and the involvement of the youth in criminal activities.
They heavily underscored the increasing trend of students that stab each other and violent acts they perpetuate towards teachers. They pled to the youth to focus in activities that build and enhance their communities.
The Acting Junior Provincial Commissioner, Hloma Sidlova, summed up the engagement by encouraging the youth saying, "If you think you are too small to change the world, then you've never spent a night with a mosquito".
Messages of support were offered by the Department of Education, Department of Social Development, Department of Safety and Liaison, Moral Regeneration, and the CPF.
