KwaZulu-Natal: At 10H59 Wednesday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a man crushed by a gate at a residence in La Lucia, Durban.

On arrival, Marshall Security officers were busy rendering first-aid after pulling the man out from under the gate.

On closer inspection, it was found that a large drive-way gate had fallen on the home-owner while trying to repair the motor.

The patient, an elderly male, had sustained moderate injuries and was treated on scene by Netcare 911 emergency care practitioners.

Once stabilised, the patient was transported by ambulance to hospital for further care.
