KwaZulu-Natal: At 12H09 Wednesday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on the N2 North bound just before the King Shaka International Airport onramp.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a bakkie transporting industrial chemicals lost control resulting in the vehicle rolling several times.

The passenger, an adult male sustained serious injuries and required Advanced Life Support intervention to stabilise him.

The driver an adult male sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene.

Due to the severity of the passengers injuries the Netcare 2 specialised helicopter was activated to airlift the patient to hospital.
