KwaZulu-Natal: At 13H41 Friday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting near a school on the R617 Esnembe area.
Reports from the scene indicate that an elderly male sustained gunshot wounds to his head and neck.
The patient was assessed on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic and found to have no signs of life and declared deceased on the scene.
Circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown however the SAPS were on scene and will be investigating.
