KwaZulu-Natal: At 16H34 Wednesday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a fire at a residence in Paradise Valley, Pinetown.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male sustained critical injuries after a gas explosion.
The patient was treated on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic for burn wounds and after stabilization was transported by another private ambulance service to hospital for further treatment.
The Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services as well as the SAPS were on scene to investigate.
