KwaZulu-Natal: At 18H50 Monday evening, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the R103 in Everton, Durban West Region.

Reports indicate that the driver of a fully laden bus lost control around a bend, resulting in the bus driving into an embankment.

When medics arrived at the scene, they found multiple passengers standing on the road, all seemingly had escaped injury.

Four other passengers were found in the bus door-well and under the seats.

Medics assessed the patients, all adult females who were still in the bus, and were found to have sustained moderate injuries.

With the assistance of START Rescue, all the patients were removed from the bus via spinal immobilisation equipment.

Once treated, all four patients were transported by ambulance to hospital for further care.

Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the Monteseel SAPS who were on scene.
