KwaZulu-Natal: At 19H35 Sunday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting on Eddie Hagan Drive in Cato Ridge.

On arrival Midlands EMS was already in attendance.

Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi came under fire as the driver turned into the road.

The adult male taxi driver was declared deceased on the scene and an adult female passenger sustained minor injuries when the taxi rolled down an embankment.

The female passenger was treated on scene and transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment.

Circumstances leading up to the shooting will be investigated by the SAPS who were on scene.
