KwaZulu-Natal: At 21H51 Thursday night Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in Eastwood, Pietermaritzburg.

Reports from the scene indicate that a 47-year-old male sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso after been confronted by the gunmen outside the house.

The patient was assessed on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic and found to have no signs of life and declared deceased on the scene.

Circumstances leading up to the shooting will be investigated by the SAPS who were on scene.
