KwaZulu-Natal collision update: At 08H22 Wednesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision on the M7 East bound near the Bellville offramp, Durban.

Reports from the scene indicate that multiple vehicles including a tanker and construction truck were involved in a collision resulting in the vehicles bursting into flames.

Fire and Rescue Services, South African Police Services, Rescue Technicians and Paramedics all rushed to the scene to assist.

Eleven people had sustained moderate injuries, two patients had sustained serious injuries and sadly one person, an adult male was declared deceased in a truck.

Two Medical helicopters had airlifted the two seriously injured patients to hospital.

The road has been closed off in both directions by authorities.
