Limpopo police yesterday conducted #CrimeAwarenessCampaigns in various clusters.

Limpopo: In Vuwani outside Thohoyandou, a school based crime prevention safer schools campaign was conducted. The Station Social Crime Prevention Coordinator, Warrant Officer Mushungwa accompanied by SAPS Communication officer, Captain Mashige joined various stakeholders including Social workers, School Governing Body members and local SANCO when visiting Mpheni Primary School.

The purpose of visit was to address the leaners about the consequences of the following:

-Substance and alcohol abuse
– Bullying,
-Carrying of dangerous weapons at school and Sexual abuse.
.Learners were encouraged to focus on their studies and not to involve themselves in criminal activities.

Meanwhile in Lebowakgomo outside Polokwane, the station communicator accompanied by Young Civilians on patrol conducted a Safer Schools campaign at Molapo Matebele primary school in Staanplaas.

Leaners were also sensitized about the following:
-Carrying of dangerous weapons,
-Substance and alcohol abuse
-bullying,
– Lack of discipline and gangsterism.
