Minister of Police, Bheki Cele congratulates Junior Police Minister Ms Juliet Khubeka for achieving 5 A's in Matric results.

The Minister of Police General Bheki Cele has congratulated the matric class of 2018 in achieving the pass rate of 78.2% especially Junior Police Minister Ms Juliet Khubeka for her outstanding performance in obtaining five distinctions in English, Sesotho, Life Orientation, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences. Kubheka is a student from Mafori Mphahlele High School in Soweto, Johannesburg.

The Matriculant was a Junior Minister of Police in May 2018 during the Cell C “take a girl child to work” when the Minister of Police Bheki Cele presented the South African Police Service Budget Vote in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) in Parliament. Take a girl child to work is an initiative aimed at promoting gender equality and exposing a girl child to wide range of career opportunities.

Juliet Khubeka will be pursuing her higher education in Chemical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Minister Cele further wishes to encourage the new class of 2019 Matriculants to always aim for utmost excellence and outstanding results in all the learning areas. “The world has a lot of opportunities to offer for the youth of today who are willing to go an extra mile and set new trends in the field of Engineering, Policing, Health and Agriculture to name a few, Juliet Kubheka will remain in the priority list of the ministerial support programme; we further wish to make a call and encourage the business sector to support her in realizing her dream of being one of the top female Chemical Engineers in the country” said Minister Cele.
