Mount Road Station management's community engagement session

Eastern Cape: Mount Road Station Management held a community engagement on Wednesday, 21 November 2018. Various community members representing the different sectors within the station attended.

The newly appointed Station Commander, Brig Marius Groenewald was introduced to members of the community where after the station commander and the local Community Policing Forum (CPF) representative addressed the community on the crime situation. Proactive measures were also discussed. Certificates of appreciation was also handed out to the neighbourhood watch members, a volunteer at the victim support centre and the brave actions of Sergeant Jacobs was also acknowledged and given recognition. Sergeant Jacobs apprehended two robbery suspects while still on her way to work.

Interaction with the community on this level is extremely important to ensure that the SAPS and the community work together in ensuring the safety of our communities.
