Murder suspect arrested in point

DURBAN – On 1 July 2019, Point police received a report of a murder at Mahatma Gandhi Road and proceeded to the scene. On arrival they found the body of Xoli Ngueli (25) with a stab wound on the chest. He was certified dead at the scene. The suspect stabbed the victim and fled the scene. A case of murder was opened for investigation.

Following an intensive investigation, yesterday afternoon Point police arrested a 35-year-old suspect for murder. He is set to appear at the Durban Magistrate Court tomorrow.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula applauded the police officers for arrested of the suspect who has been on the run since last year.
