Newborn baby boy found alive on dump site, Wells Estate
Eastern Cape: An elert community member from Wells Estate heard baby cries coming from a dump site in Malinga Street, Wells Estate at about 09:00 this morning. On taking a closer look she discovered a new-born baby boy between rubbish, still alive and naked.
The baby is currently receiving medical attention at Wells Estate Clinic and will be transferred to Dora Nginza Hospital later today.
The baby boy is also in urgent need of new-born warm clothing and diapers. Any good samaritan donations could be handed in at the Swartkops Police Station. The 26-year-old mother will be facing charges of attempted murder and child abandonment at the Motherwell Magistrates Court tomorrow 21 September 2018.
