Eastern Cape: In an effort to eradicate proliferation of illegal firearms in our society a 32 year old man has been arrested after having been found in possession of a 9mm short pistol without ammunition at Lujizweni No 5 locality in Ngqeleni during an operation conducted by Ngqeleni Vispol and Detectives during the early hours of today the 11 July 2018 at about 01h00.

The suspect will appear before Ngqeleni Magistrate Court tomorrow the 12 July 2018 facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and the firearm will be sent for ballistic testing.

“Our presence must be felt by criminals. I commend Ngqeleni for their commitment in bringing the perpetrators of crime to book. Said the Acting Cluster Commander Brigadier Nomawethu Makonza.
