Police are looking for the parents of a week-old-baby

The Pinetown Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit appeals to the community of Hillcrest and surrounding areas for assistance in locating the parents of a one-week-old baby boy who was found abandoned at Embo next to the railway line. The baby was found on 29 December 2018 by a passer-by who heard something crying from the bushes next to the railway line. He decided to check where the cries were coming from and to his surprise, he saw a baby wrapped in a blue and white blanket, underneath the blanket the baby was wearing a white romper. He took the baby and immediately contacted the police.
Police from Hillcrest SAPS attended the scene and the baby was taken to hospital for medical examination. He was found to be in a healthy state and he was placed at a place of safety. The police would like to urge anyone who might have information about the parents of this baby to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Sihle Ntuli on 079 502 9113 or 031 325 5001 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.
