Police embark on crime prevention operation along the N1 road #SaferFestiveSeason #SaferRoads #PoliceVisibility

Limpopo: In our proactive approach in the fight against crime, SAPS members, last night (2018-11-21), were hard at work, pulling out all stops to ensure that the N1 is incident-free for the benefit of all road users. Members patrolled along the N1 road aiming to enforce safer roads especially after recent robberies where motorists were targeted and robbed of valuables when stopping alongside the road. The operation was led by the Provincial Head of Operational Response Service, Brigadier Samuel Tinyane.

During the course of the operation, five (5) buses were found at different locations parked alongside the N1 road. The drivers were advised on crime prevention tips and were urged to be vigilant when using the road, especially at night, as criminals have previously pounced on unsuspecting motorists who stopped their vehicles along the road and robbed them.

The deployment of members along the N1 is part of our Safer Festive Season Operations that were launched on Friday 16 November 2018 and will continue across the province until the crime situation is completely stabilized.
